Teen dies in Harrington crash; swerved to avoid loose dog
HARRINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating
a single vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Harrington girl
on Saturday morning.
Investigators say 17-year-old Kori Minner was driving her car
northbound on Fox Hunters Road when a hunting dog ran onto the
road. Police say Minner swerved to avoid striking the dog, then
overcorrected and lost control of the car. The car hit a tree and
Minner died at the scene.
Police believe the dog was one of several being loaded into an
SUV by two men near the crash scene. After the crash, police
believe the men retrieved the dog and left the area before police
arrived.
